QUARTZ
Engineered Beauty
Quartz countertops are made of natural quartz combined with polymer resins. These components create a strong, durable, and hygienic countertop that has become extremely popular amongst homeowners for its ease of care and maintenance. The material is not 100% stone, so is typically referred to as engineered quartz. Slabs of quartz are manufactured with a uniformity of color, which is one of the primary advantages of these countertops. This makes it easier for consumers to know what they’re getting, and ensures that all the countertops will match one another perfectly, with no discoloration between sections. Quartz is ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, foyers and other rooms that desire a consistent appearance. Recommended uses include flooring, countertops and walls in both residential and commercial properties.
PRECAUTIONS
Avoid the use of highly aggressive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH 8.5 or higher). Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue and should be rinsed off thoroughly.
Do not use products that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers, as they will permanently damage the stone.
.
Do not stand, kneel, or sit on your countertops, as they could crack or break.
Use a protective barrier between any hot object and granite such as trivet or mat. Placing hot pans or other objects directly on your countertop may cause discoloration and/or cracking.
Rinse with hot, clean water on a regular basis with a damp cloth, sponge, or mop and dry with paper towel or a soft material.
Most spills can be cleaned with soap and water.
If your surface comes in contact with any of the agents listed in the previous section, rinse immediately with clean water to neutralize the effect.
To remove adhered material such as food, gum, nail polish or even dried paint, first scrape away excess material with a plastic putty knife and then use a damp cloth to remove any marks or residual dirt.
For extra-stubborn stains, a no-scratch Scotch-Brite pad is recommended along with a non-abrasive cleaner.
SEALERS
Quartz is one of Earth’s hardest minerals. It is highly heat resistant and is both durable and hard-wearing, and most quartz surfaces are mixed with resin for further protection and strength. As a non-porous surface, Quartz blocks liquids and stains from penetrating through the surface on its own. These surfaces will keep their enduring luster and beauty for years to come with minimal effort–there is no sealing, waxing, or polishing required.
